'Shameless' Season 7 Episode 1 Review
The long wait is finally over, as we got to catch up with the Gallaghers this past Sunday night. After Fiona's wedding was ruined by Frank at the end of last season, the family dumped him into a lake off of a bridge, putting Frank in a coma for a month. Frank awakens in a hospital unaware of the circumstances that put him there, as he makes his way to The Alibi Room and then home, much to the chagrin of his children.
Lip is out of rehab, Fiona is having a hard time managing the diner, Debbie is stealing carriages at the park to sell online, Carl is having issues with his "manhood" and Ian suspects his boyfriend of cheating. Kevin and V are also still carrying on their affair with Svetlana, whom is a number wizard and is now helping out with the bar and family finances. The series never lacks for new storylines, as each character continuously gets themself in and out of trouble with different aspects of their lives.
This is one of my favorite shows on TV currently and I'm very excited to see where this season will take each character. Frank is always a wild card, going through phases where I love him and hate him equally. There's always a major threat for the entire Gallagher family, and it will be interesting to see what pops up this season. The lewdness and vulgarity makes for hilarious and uncomfortable moments.
Solid starting point for what should be another great season.
My rating: 8 out of 10
