'Mr. Robot' Season 2 Review

Season 2 of USA's 'Mr. Robot' was an absolute mind-f*** of a season. There are so many moving parts to this series that it sometimes becomes difficult to follow if you aren't paying close attention. Though I overall really enjoy this series, the season did have some problems in terms of pacing, feeling slow at times.

There were so many storylines this season, including the downfall and eventual bailout of Evil Corp, Elliot's struggle Mr. Robot, his imprisonment, the deaths of members of fsociety, and the FBI investigation of them, just to name a few. With so many plot points, it would be difficult to get too into detail on all of them.

Elliot's battle with his alter ego is crazy to follow. The way he loses control to Mr. Robot and has no recollection of memories is baffling. He has so much going on that he doesn't even know about regarding Tyrell and the Dark Army, leaving the audience also in the dark. The rest of the fsociety members aren't faring so well, with a few dead and Darlene currently in FBI custody. The whole Dark Army issue is also mysterious to me, as I don't quite know what their true intentions are.

There were some episodes that did feel a bit slow or drawn out, but the overall quality of each episode outweighs these issues. The series is so engaging and mysterious that it keeps me hanging on each week, waiting to see what is actually revealed next. The end of the season saw Darlene being shown the FBI's knowledge in all of fsociety's doings, cataloguing every member and event. This knowledge will most certainly bring them all down, unless something can be done about it.

I'm definitely hooked on the show and am already eagerly awaiting season 3.

My rating: 8 out of 10
