'The Flash' Season 3 News From Comic Con
Check out the teaser for season 3!
During a panel at San Diego Comic Con, it was revealed that DC villain Dr. Alchemy would debut as a villain in season 3 of 'The Flash'.
"We're doing two big bads. One is a speedster, and the other is Doctor Alchemy," "The Flash" producer Todd Helbing revealed at the panel.
Comic Book Resources has a transcript of the panel:
"This is something that's going to ripple throughout the whole season. His parents are still alive... Cisco has obviously gone on to make some money," Todd Helbing explained. He added that it doesn't undo the affects of the Particle Accelerator on Barry's physiology.
"We're doing two big bads. One is a speedster, and the other is Doctor Alchemy," he added.
"He certainly doesn't like the Flash," Aaron Helbing pitched in.
Tobin Bell, the voice of Jigsaw from the "Saw" films, will voice one of these villains.
"When we find [Barry], he's been in this timeline for three months. He didn't grow up with Joe... or Iris. They're kind of acquaintances. He's still a CSI," Gustin explained.
"In any timeline, Barry and Iris find each other," Aaron Helbing shared.
"If she was going to move on, the person she really wanted to do that with is Barry Allen," Patton said of Iris' relationship with Barry and how it developed over the past two seasons.
"Anytime we have women on television that are friendly and support each other, we should do that," she added when asked if Iris and Caitlin Snow would interact.
"Well, so Barry turned back time and he sort of created a timeline in the process... yeah, in that different timeline, Cisco is an ostentatious billionaire," Valdes shared. "He's always flexing how much money he has and how rich he is."
"There are definitely quips. Regardless of the fact that this is a different version of Cisco, there's still a core to him," he added.
"[Joe] is very unhappy. Things at home aren't going very well. He's having a particular issue with his youngest and only daughter. It doesn't seem solvable," Martin explained. "Even though him and Barry aren't tight, Barry makes sure Joe still has a job, because Joe doesn't want to do anything."
"I will say that it's enjoyable that by the time this season ends, if I get to play three different characters on the show, I can check that off my bucket list," Cavanagh joked.
"[Kid Flash] is good. I had an idea that [I would wear a costume] eventually," Lonsdale said. "He's Kid Flash, so I try to play him with a real young, lighthearted cockiness to him. He's in really good place mentally. He's never been more sure of himself."
Felton, who plays Julian Dorn, took the microphone next. "Last time I was here, I was representing a franchise symbolized by a lightning bolt," he pointed out. "Any character I play you should see as a threat."
"I honestly don't know. I tried to get both of these writers tipsy last night to get some information out of them, but no luck. There's some friction between Barry and Julian," he added. "There are some feathers ruffled early on."
"I think we're pretty pleasant with each other," Martin said.
"The thing about 'Flashpoint' for my character is she's quite similar. We all get to play different versions of our character," Patton shared. "This is one of those rare shows where you get to expand and play as an actor." She added that she hopes to play Iris West for many more years."
