'Dirty Grandpa' Review
'Dirty Grandpa' follows the story of Jason Kelly (Zac Efron) traveling to Florida with his grandfather, Dick (Robert De Niro) after the death of his grandmother. Jason is a young lawyer who is set to be married in a week, but gets roped into escorting Dick to Florida.
Jason is shocked at Dick's behavior, as he is out to engage in relations with young women in an attempt to feel young again after a 40-year marriage and his wife's losing battle with cancer after 10 years.
This movie was hilarious. Filled with dick jokes, fart jokes, and crude sexual humor, Robert De Niro's performance was vastly different from anything else I've seen him in. For a film that looked like a throw-away comedy, it surprisingly had a lot of heart and had me cracking up throughout viewing.
The supporting cast, including Aubrey Plaza, Zoey Deutch, Jason Mantzoukas, Adam Pally and others really rounded out the cast and provided for great comedic moments.
The film made almost $36 million domestically, holds an 11% critic rating and a 46% fan rating on Rotten Tomatoes.
My rating: 8 out of 10
