Rewind: 'Salute Your Shorts'
Although only airing for 2 seasons, Nickelodeon's 'Salute Your Shorts' was a fun show, depicting the lives of teenagers away at summer camp, Camp Anawanna.
With characters like Z.Z. Ziff, Donkeylips, Telly Redford, Sponge Harris, Dina Alexander, Ronnie Pinsky and Bobby Budnik, counselor Kevin 'Ug' Lee had a hard time keeping them in line and out of trouble.
Whether the group was trying to smuggle in outside meats (Pinsky salami), telling ghost stories (Zeke the Plumber) or playing practical jokes on each other and Ug, they always overcame their problems with each other and had fun.
'Salute Your Shorts' has an unforgettable theme song that I could probably still sing to this day and will always fondly remember. As a summer camp counselor myself, this show sticks out to me even more, especially with summer right around the corner.
If you can manage to find this show somewhere, be sure to watch it for its fun, hijinx, and all-around 90s nostalgia.
