Weekend Wrap Up 6/3/16 - 6/5/16
This weekend, I attended my first Comic Con, the Wizard World Philadelphia Comic Con. The day was awesome! For a recap of my experience, check out my post here!
Story #1 Thor Will NOT Appear in 'Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2'
A few days ago, director James Gunn posted a photo of himself holding Thor's hammer, Mjolnir, on set of GOTG2. Many blogs and sites were quick to run with this as confirmation of Thor's presence in the film, prompting Gunn to clear up any misconceptions in a Facebook post.
Story #2 'Justice League: Part One' True Title Revealed?
In a tweet from Geoff Johns, he seemed to confirm that the Justice League film would simply be called 'Justice League', dropping the 'Part One' from the title.
Story #3 'Rogue One' Re-Shoots
If you've been following my posts, you'll know that I purposely haven't been talking about all of the re-shoot rumors regarding 'Rogue One'. Every film schedules time for re-shoots before going into production, that's just the way it works.
The Hollywood Reporter is reporting that Simon Crane (Edge of Tomorrow, World War Z) will be brought in to assist with the scheduled re-shoots. Also, screenwriter Tony Gilroy (The 'Bourne' franchise) has been tapped to add pages to the script.
Story #4 Bumble Bee Revealed for new 'Transformers' Film
Michael Bay tweeted a picture of Bumble Bee (in Camaro form) for the upcoming 'Transformers: The Last Knight'.
'Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Out of the Shadows' took the #1 spot this weekend, edging out 'X-Men: Apocalypse', with a mediocre $35.2 opening weekend take. TMNT is currently sporting a 35% critic rating and 62% audience rating on Rotten Tomatoes.
#2: 'X-Men: Apocalypse' - $22.2 million (2nd week)
#3: 'Me Before You' - $18.2 million (opening week)
#4: 'Alice Through the Looking Glass' - $10.6 million (2nd week)
#5: 'The Angry Birds Movie' - $9.7 million (3rd week)
