Namor Back to Marvel?
During an interview on the Fatman on Batman podcast, marvel's Joe Quesada said that the rights to Namor the Sub-Mariner are with Marvel/Disney. There is a lot confusion regarding the character's film rights, which seemed to be held previously by Universal, much like how they hold The Hulk's.
During the interview, Kevin Smith asked Quesada about Namor:
"...The same people that own Iron Man, own the Sub-Mariner?"
Quesada replied, "I can't speak for studios...As far as I know, yeah we do. It’s not at Fox, it’s not at Sony...Yeah."
As for the possibility of seeing Namor in the Marvel Cinematic Universe sometime soon, Quesada said, "I cannot confirm or deny, sir."
Back in 2012, Quesada also commented on the topic, stating Marvel had the rights then as well, which he was mistaken on. We will have to wait for Kevin Feige to clear up the matter for an official confirmation.
