'Arrow' S04E22 Review
Last night on 'Arrow', Darhk nearly traps Oliver and Diggle in the Nexus Chamber, but they are able to escape.
Darhk's Genesis plan nearly works, but Felicity, with the help of her father and Curtis, are able to hack into the system and thwart Brother Eye, a man formerly obsessed with Felicity.
Oliver and Diggle find the underground bunker where Thea is being held and attempt to rescue her. Merlyn has given her a drug to control her mind, and she attempts to kill them. Lonnie Machin/Anarky is still lurking and out for revenge, kidnapping Ruve and her daughter. After Oliver is able to reach Thea, she snaps out of it and they begin searching for Lonnie.
During the fight with Lonnie, a gas tank explodes and begins bringing down the entire complex. Lonnie stabs Ruve and manages to escape, as Oliver Thea Diggle and Ruve's daughter get to safety, watching the ground top-side implode, caving in on itself. Darhk learns of Ruve's death and is hell-bent on watching the world burn, as the underground complex was the only place capable of providing safety from the impending blast.
There was a lot of interaction with Felicity's parents, teasing the fact that there's more to the story of her father leaving Felicity than her mother told her. These things could play out next week and moving into next season.
The past few episodes, for me, haven't been all that great. I feel like this story line with Darhk is really dragging on. There have been a lot of "filler" episodes this season, further extending the main plot and I feel like it's become stagnant. I look forward to next week's finale happy that it will finally be over, which isn't something a satisfied fan should be doing.
