A 'Slender Man' Movie is Happening
The Hollywood Reporter has confirmed that a 'Slender Man' movie is in the works.
Starting as a popular internet meme, Slender Man is a paranormal figure with "unnaturally long arms and a featureless face. A narrative implied the man was involved in causing the disappearance of children and other horrifying acts."
In an article with Collider, "The meme also spurred real-life violence in 2014 when two 14-year-old Wisconsin girls lured one of their friends into the woods and stabbed her 19 times, claiming that murdering their friend would allow them to become “proxies” of the Slender Man. Thankfully the 12-year-old victim survived, and the perpetrators are currently in juvenile prison awaiting trial."
A documentary titled "The Slender Man Killings" is also set to debut on HBO later this year.
