Marvel TV Shows in Trouble?
A feature from The Hollywood Reporter has cast doubt on a pair of MCU-based TV shows hitting the airwaves this coming fall, in 'Agent Carter' and the proposed 'Marvel's Most Wanted'.
'Agent Carter', starring Hayley Atwell, reprising her role as Peggy Carter from the 'Captain America' franchise, has seen two short seasons on ABC but is in doubt for returning for a third. Atwell is currently involved with another ABC production in 'Conviction'.
The proposed spinoff to 'Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.', 'Marvel's Most Wanted', was intended to star Adrianne Palicki and Nick Blood as Bobbi Morse/Mockingbird and Lance Hunter, respectively. Their characters exited AoS earlier this season in preparation for their own show, but those plans could possibly be coming to and end.
No confirmation of the cancellation of these shows has been reported at this time. Other outlets like Variety and Deadline are also weighing in on these series:
“On the more testosterone side, ABC has the straight-to-series drama Designated Survivor starring Kiefer Sutherland, and Marvel’s Most Wanted, which still looks like a no-brainer.” – Deadline
“Agents of SHIELD spinoff Marvel’s Most Wanted has been cooling and some say it’s not considered the lock it once was.” – The Hollywood Reporter
“And expanding ABC’s Marvel universe — though “Agent Carter” will likely be axed (with Hayley Atwell’s “Conviction” pilot getting great buzz) — “Marvel’s Most Wanted” isn’t quite a lock, but has a very good chance of going to series, say sources.” – Variety
