'Arrow' S04E19 Review
Dealing with the death of Laurel, Team Arrow is in the midst of mourning their fallen comrade. Lots of guilt and blame is being pressed on each character for her death, as we see Diggle attempt to kill/kidnap new mayor/Darkh/s wife, Ruve Adams. There is also someone masquerading as Black Canary, which gives Quentin a small glimmer of hope that Laurel may still be alive, but upon visiting the morgue, Laurel's corpse is still there. Felicity, now back with the team, discovers the identity of the impostor.
Quentin calls Nyssa to try and resurrect Laurel, but is told that the Lazarus Pit was destroyed. The episode's flashback scenes are of a younger Laurel and Oliver rekindling their relationship after Oliver's return from the dead and Tommy's death.
Oliver stops John's attempt on Ruve, but in the process (and due to the fake Black Canary's actions), she is emphatic on stopping the vigilantism in Star City.
In terms of moving the story forward, there wasn't much. Felicity's return and the confirmation the Laurel is dead (and staying dead?) were the bg sticking points. Laurel's death serves as another motivating factor in defeating Darkh. Felicity even tells Oliver that he MUST kill him, in which Oliver agrees.
As you may know, I was NOT a fan of Laurel and was happy to see her kick the bucket. She sucked as a hero and was wholly annoying and didn't have important plot lines. The episode was just ok for me, nothing all that great. With only a handful of episodes remaining in the season, the stakes will surely be ramped up in the coming weeks.
My rating: 7 out of 10
