'Fear The Walking Dead' S02E03 Review
The newest episode of 'Fear The Walking Dead' was finally what I have been waiting for in this show. We actually got a lot of action! Season 1 very slow, albeit a short 6-episode intro season. Sunday's episode finally got into the thick of it, as we got a lot of walker/infected slaying.
The beginning of the episode starts on a raft, with the survivors of the plane crash we kept seeing during season 6 of TWD. Only a few remain, arguing about killing off the boy who is badly burned and knocking on death's door. Charlie, the remaining female, kills the two guys to save the boy.
With the 'Abigail' temporarily out of order due to a clog, part of the survivors head ashore to gather supplies that have washed ashore from the crash, led by Daniel. During their mission, Chris goes into the wreckage and finds some Infected and a man with his spine sticking out. The man asks for death and Chris obliges, ending his suffering. Surprise, surprise, there is an attack on the group and they luckily fight them off, as Travis is working on getting the boat running again.
The group meets Charlie and the boy, but Victor is again not allowing anymore passengers aboard, as we don't know his true motives. They do start towing their raft, but Strand cuts the tow rope while an angry Madison watches helplessly. Strand has set a course for Baja, Mexico, but we don't know exactly what awaits the group there.
The action scenes in this episode were almost on par with TWD and was good to see. The series so far has been slow up to this point, but with episodes like this can really take that next step.
The other thing I really liked was Nick's discovery of covering himself in blood and guts to throw off the scent of the Infected. We'll see how this plays out moving forward. This was probably my favorite episode of the series so far.
My rating: 8 out of 10
