The Walking Dead Season 6 Finale Episode 16 "Last Day on Earth" Review

The week leading up to last night's season 6 finale was long and tense. My household was filled with conversation about what was going to happen, who was going to die, and how the portrayal of Negan would be.
The anticipation over the weekend was mounting. As Sunday rolled around my fiance and I could hardly contain ourselves. And then, finally, it started.
The episode showed us Morgan's search for Carol and the happenings from it. We saw Maggie's desperate need of a doctor because of her possible miscarriage at the end of last week's episode.
We saw Rick and the group's attempts to reach Hilltop to bring Maggie, but being blocked off on all routes by the Saviors. And, finally, we saw Negan.
Negan is the leader of the Saviors, the group our Alexandrians have been feuding with this season. Played impeccably by Jeffrey Dean Morgan, Negan appears to be a guy you do not want to cross. He was witty, funny, charming and frightening at the same time. I can't ever remember feeling my heart pound in my chest so much during a tv show like it did last night.
The final 10 minutes of the episode found our group captured by Negan's crew. The way it was drawn out built up the suspense exponentially. When we were introduced to "Lucille" (Negan's baseball bat), my stomach dropped. You just knew somebody was going to get acquainted with Lucille. Negan's "eeny meeny miney moe" selection process of deciding who would pay the price for killing a lot of his men was intense. The way the scene was shot left us in wonderment as to whom actually was brutally beaten to death with Lucille.
And so season 6 ended, on a cliffhanger and bloody camera lens, with Negan viciously and savagely beating one of our beloved characters to death. Who was it? We won't find out until season 7, and even the actors themselves don't know who actually died.
